BRAVE Peer Educators work toward ending sexual violence on the Georgia Tech campus. They achieve this by educating their community in the following ways:

  • Build Connections: Support the GT community in building meaningful connections through education on healthy relationships and consent.
  • Raise Awareness: Increase campus-wide consciousness about the pervasiveness of sexual violence and how to respond to those who experience it.
  • Activate Change: Create spaces and conversations that challenge and reflect on dominant cultural narratives allowing sexual violence to occur and persist.
  • Value Voices: Sexual violence impacts all communities, and all voices are needed to make change.
  • Empower Communities: Provide tools for communities to act and work toward preventing sexual violence within their communities.

Community Relations Chair:

Lydia Han

Bio: Hey! I’m Lydia, a PhD student in Cybersecurity and Electrical/Computer Engineering. I was an undergrad at Tech too. My research focuses on creating (ahem, I mean detecting and counteracting) audio deepfakes. In my free time, I like to write poetry and dance. I see Tech as the home of great minds and great efficiency. But great minds and efficiency don’t just come from calculating numbers, working hard on grades, and grinding on code; they also need to be sustained by kindness, compassion, and courage. To me, being a BRAVE Peer Educator means facilitating that sustenance for Tech and its people—both of which I love deeply.
